Dental Care benefits fall into three main categories:

1) Basic Preventative: Basic services include diagnostic and preventative procedures such as recall exams, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, fluoride, scaling, teeth extractions as well as some supplementary basic services such as Endodontics (Root canal therapy) and Periodontics (treatment of bone and gums).

2) Major Restorative Services: Includes crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays and onlays.

3) Orthodontic Services: Appliances such as braces and other appliances used for straightening teeth and correcting bites. This benefit is generally available to dependent children only.

Levels of benefit to be included, reimbursement percentages and maximums all may be tailored to the plan sponsor's preferences.
